Environmentally friendly island is being constructed at the premises of Marine Research Institute of the Klaipeda University; island will be placed in the local waters of Klaipeda city municipality. The new construction will be tested as plant growth media and its technical and aesthetic relevance in the urban territories. These developments are based on our experience gained when testing different designs during the project implementation and will serve to mitigate some of the constraints preventing further spread of the floating technology in our region (costs, extensive use of plastics components).
