Before floating wetlands are installed to boost coastal water restoration, plenty of questions need to be clarified: What kinds of permits are needed? What size and shape should the island have? Which materials should be used? Also, when choosing the optimal plant species, different aspects need to be considered: Is it primarily about nutrient removal or should other ecosystem services such as erosion protection, habitat suitability or aesthetics be taken into account? EUCC-D created the first brochure to guide interested end-users and support them in their decision-making. The digital version of the brochure is available here (only in German).
