Two Juodkrante islands (Curonian Spit National Park in Lithuania) were harvested in the end of September. It was exciting to find out that island production doubled this year!
The total harvest (fresh weight) is 97 kg from Gintaro Bay island and 35 kg from Juodkrante 14km island, which was 55kg and 15kg, respectively, in 2019. Nutrient analyses will show us if there is a change in P and N concentrations in the plants. If plant nutrient uptake capacity is the same, the annual impact of 24m2 island is ~0.2 kg P and 5,6kg N.
